The Messent Conservation Park, a Mallee park is the natural habitat of the Mallee Fowl and Silky Mouse. The park has a large variety of plants including brown stringy barks, white and ridge-fruited Mallee, desert banksias, fringed myrtle and yacca. Visitors to the park may also see wombats, echidnas, western grey kangaroos, emus, Mallee fowls and if your lucky even water fowls.
Entry to the park is via Lake Ellen Road which connects with Woods Well Road between Tintinara and Salt Creek. Access to the park is via four wheel drive.
